Been feeling a bit down these last few days so I thought for a change I would charge the batteries up for my River Tug and go up the pond tomorrow and try her out, I have nver had her in the water so I filled the test tank ( bath ) and ballasted her.

Feel free to move if it is not in the right place, the post that is not the bath,

best regards John.

In the Test Tank, and after I have added ballast.

A close up view.

And another one showing the water line, she looks as if she might be down by the bow a little bit, I can fine tune the ballasting at the pond.

G'day John
Have fun on the pond today! Watch out for the ducks, ;) they might think the TUG is intruding on their territory, and 'peck' at it.
If that happens, give them a shove with the bow.:p:p LOL.
Allthebest memattie

Thank you Bob and Greg, I had a great time at the pond today, it was 26 Celsius or 72 Fahrenheit, with a cool breeze coming off the pond,

Approx in the middle of the pond, she sailed well but there are a couple of things I need to change,
I was running a 24 volt motor on a 12 volt battery, I will change the motor for a 12 volt one, also the propeller was a plastic one which powered her in forward drive quite well but did nothing in reverse, so I will change the prop for a brass one, but apart from that everything went great.

Just have to finish her off now, some painting, cover over the bridge deck etc and a few figures to paint and add.

Some great "action" shots John, it sails well. You're lucky, sunny 72 F. it's 32 F. here with freezing fog,
Cheers Andy

G'day Andy, yes it was nice and relaxing day, really enjoyed it, I've got another tug that I'm building, the Caldercraft Imara, she is a little bit bigger than the River Tug and has two 65mm props, I will attach a couple of pics when I get on my PC, I don't have any on this lap top, I must get around to reposting the build logs as well, thanks for dropping in Andy,

best regards John.

Hallo John, are you happy with the RC-kits from Caldercraft? The static historical kits are in my opinion very good, but i never saw the content of such a kit from them. My father and myself built several RC models from Graupner long years ago, also tugboats, fisherman, fireships etc..... was a lot of fun to be also at the lake to sail them

Thank you Uwek, yes I am quite pleased with the Calder craft Immara, but as with all kits there are some things that need work to be done on them, and other things such as the paneling on the bridge work, I added as an extra, instead of using their printed plywood paneling, but over all it is a very nice kit,

best regards John.
