I was given a kit of the Sergal 1:78 scale Sovereign of the Seas. Problem is no rigging plans. Is there a detailed set available?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jack

You might want to try on ebay, sometimes people selling kits plans after finished their model,I bought one a 30 year old planset from ebay from the kit Adler Von Lübeck ,

The rigging plans for the model are junk and grossly in error. I am rigging the model correctly based upon research and two great books. Hopefully you can follow my work on this site to do your rigging.

Hallo Gary,
Could you mention the titles of the books? Maybe we have already reviewed them also....

Hello Uwe:
The four that need to be used to get the things right are:
Seventeenth Century Rigging by RC Anderson, Historic Ship Models by Wolfram zu Mondfeld, The Masting and Rigging of English Ships of War by James Lee and finally Sovereign of the Seas by James Sephton.
Also, you must know that the Mantua kit represents the ship only up to 1651 refit. This reit drastically revised the back end of the ship, the hieght masts and yards length were revised. Almost all the mast height and yard diameter and lengths are incorrect the kit plans.
