Privateer Viper 1/24th Scale

So I got the inner sides figured out roughly But now I cant seem to figure out what the thickness on the centerline should be I am still going through my books trying to figure it out now.

The Problem is Chapmans drawings are lacking in some lines for example the Cutting down line which would give me the tops of the floor timbers

So I finished the aft half now the tedious job of all the waterline4s and making sure everything is good to go. once that is done then it is just time to start making parts after i calculate and create the frame plan

I think once i get the basic frame plan complete I will start cutting wood as I work on the drawings

Got the outside waterlines finished and the new keel guide and top curve guide.

Next I need to figure out the very center section of the bow, like where the knight-heads would go alongside the keel, so that I can loft the very bow area, but that will be a separate short loft as was the first loft of just the outer surface.

Sooooooo I tried to loft half a hull with inners and found a couple small problems so time to start over. Most of it is around the floor areas because I had to guess its a small fix. Also the tapers at full scale is only an inch so to make life easier im just going to do away with the keel tapers as it will be only somewhere areound 3/32" at scale and you can fart off that much wood rofl.

Ok So tonight I got a second Loft set up and lofted the hull without the waterlines just to see how it looks and came out great. I will add some waterlines tomorrow by intersecting the loft and see how everything looks.

This is by far the most time consuming part of the setup, However the more time you spend making sure your loft is perfect the easier life will be later.

Ok clocks went back tonight and its getting late but I got my Hull Loft fixed up and I am really happy with it. I still need to do the inner waterlines but if it like the outer then they are all fine.

After double checking tomorrow I will start Figuring out the frame plan. So Far this is the best ship I have done to date and learned some stuff I can use on other ships later on to make them easier. I guess sometimes just need a few weeks off to get a fresh look on things.

So today I did the inner Guides and had a few small hiccups but we talking 1/4 inch or so at full scale, However I went ahead and fixed them and everything seems perfect now.

Next I will cut out the gunports and anything else I may need to trim and get ready for marking out my Stations.

Well Looking at the frames if I laid them out the way dave showed, in order to get them in the right places around the ports each frame would only be 5 1/2" thick which to me seems pretty thin. If I do it english style it comes to around 10 inches Following Steele for the floor timbers.

Have to go pick on the grandkids for a little bit (more than likely the other way around they will pick on me lol) and when I get back decide what I want to do.
