Hi Donnie

If anyone is interested this is how I did the spacing between the deadeyes.
Get a lady's hair pin ( sorry I should have said HAT PIN ), cut the plastic bit off, then bend the top and bottom to the length (gap) you want (you may have to heat it up befre bending).
This is how I did it on my SOS build.

Very Cool ideas. You guys are geniuses.

Well, onto my Gun Carriages. I can not decide if I want to fully rig them. I have to make the tiny blocks myself so it will look somewhat to scale. I have one block temp attached to see how it will look.

Thanks Joe, I might take you up on that !

Well, onward to the Cannons again. I made this jig (I got the idea from someone else here - I can't take credit for it). Also, my Down-Cut End Mill finally came in (2mm dia. ) and I was able to deepen the axle slot. (why? because the axle slots are too shallow which makes the cannons/carriages set up to high).
I bought it from 2L, inc Part # PWD2-125-1 www.2linc.com

You will see where I finished the milling of the front axle block and the depth compared to the other one that is shallow. This also will make the axle sit further down and look more appealing / functional to scale.

For those that were following my "Shotbox" build, well, I was an idiot and thought it would be safe. I knew that the stand was a little on the unstable side and today, the Admiral called me and confirmed that the ship FELL inside the shotbox. o_OSickSickSick
She said that there was not much damage, just the upper bowsprit part. She wanted to send me pictures, but I said no ---- thats what I get for being an idiot and leaving the ship there instead of returning it to my workbench and securing it down.

Glad its not much damage. I had a cat get one of my ships during my final rigging. I would usually put it in my shop when I was done for the evening, this evening I didn't and the cat got it the next morning it was on the floor all the rigging ripped off masts broken and parts chewed on and on top of that he sprayed it with a musky odor that would gag a maggot. total loss on that ship

I had to order some more nails for the cannon upper hinges (Capsquare bolt hinges), so in the meantime, I thought I would try and build the ships boat support carriage frame. I just have it in place and is not glued in. The Stanctions will have to be added later. Also the cradles for the ships boats.

The Cannons (from kit) do NOT have any rigging. At a minimum, most kits provide for the Breeching Tackle. But nothing there in the box. Not even the eye bolts to mount to the bulwark.

So, I plan to at least rig the Breeching Tackle and that will be all.

Ok, so I have installed 3 Rigged Cannons. Pain in the Butt !!! Learned a huge lesson. Do the Cannons as soon as you can. I thought that the Cannons would get in the way of building structures on the deck (furnishings), but since I am now just addressing the Cannons, it is crazy. I also forgot completely to install the Ring Bolts on the Bulwarks. Should have done that like a long time ago while it was clear working area. Screwed that one up too. It is very tight trying to get those Ring Bolts in.

At any rate, it is what it is and can't go back, but have to march on forward. I guess my only excuse is that the box did not come with Ring Bolts and the instructions and plans never mention it - I guess that threw me off a bit, BUT, I should have known better. Just lack of experience I guess on my part. Oh, rigging the cannons fully is completely out of the question. Too tight for any of that.
