I was initially interested in the OcCre Endeavor, but after looking at the Montanes, it also has my interest. Has anyone had any experience with the OcCre Montanes build ?

Thanks
Donnie

I was hoping that someone out there had some experience with this model as I am thinking about its purchase. I can't find much reference to it on the internet. It is less than the Trinidad !!!

This is the page where the ship is and it is $465.00 from there.
Roger at Ages of Sail carries all their ships.

Hi Donnie, I know this is an old thread did you ever get any more info on the Montanes? It has my attention for my next build. Thank you CMM2000

Hi Donnie there are several builds on MSW. Its a single plank hull with same wood as my Santa Ana. Why not a Jokita kit. The Diana or Agamemnon would be right up your ally and CC kits are a real pleasure to build. I'm busting to start my Victory but want to take a break from another 1st rate with the Occre Ulisies & try my hand at an RC kit.

A simple no would have been adequate.
In my question I stated it was an old post.
Even better some advice would have been helpful.
If you are goiong to be passive agressive so be it.
By the way the question was directed at Donie.
If I ired the sys admin gods excuse me for being a noob.
Please feel free to delete my account since it seems like I have encountered another crabby crumdungeon sys admin.

Hi
I have built the OcCre NS Mercedes. Looking at images of the Montanes it looks very similar as far as the upper deck, masts and rigging goes.
It seems there is quite a premium to pay for an extra row of guns!
OcCre models seem to be relatively cheap but fit for purpose.
The quantities of materials and fittings were generous: I had plenty left over - even a spare gun port frame, lid and cannon.
The planking on the Mercedes was mahogany over Ramin. Ramin is less user friendly than Lime.
Mahogany is not a very appropriate colour but I suppose it could be stained.
The masts and spars were ramin: same comment.
Just noticed: the spec for the Montanes is walnut over lime. Explains some of the higher cost. Worth it.
The etched brass stern decoration on the Mercedes was a bit basic but OK from a distance.
The rigging thread was uncoated and therefore cooperative. The standing rigging is dark brown rather then black. (????)
I didn't bother with the supplied sails.
I also built the OcCre Golden Hind. I encounterd no problems with either model
Hope this helps.

I have this kit in the closet and will building her next. I'm new and currently building the OcCre Beagle and I build along with the videos that OcCre puts out. I really like that as a new modeler. After the Montanes, I may branch out to another manufacturer....but I like OcCre for now.
