Hallo to all,

Some days ago I was asked by Donnie to get a Moderator and I agreed immediately. So a new Mod is in town.

When I found this forum some months ago, I was fastly overwhelmed by the very friendly community.
Everybody wants to help, assist and is interested in your and others work.
It is a group of friends who are engaged in the same hobby. And this we share with the others.

Something about me:

In the past, I was already Admin and Mod in other known and unknown foren, but due to changing the location and also getting a daughter, the interests in the last years was not focused on shipmodeling any more. In the meantime, I am 53 years old, living in Vienna, Austria. My name is Uwe Karl, I am in normal life Civil Engineer, married with a beloved hungarian lady and we have 2 daughters. Since some months I am lucky to have a workshop in the basement, so I restarted modelling of static sailing ships. My avatar is the Triton cross section built years ago.

In the past I built some kits, mainly from Caldercraft / Jotika like the Brig Supply, Chatham, Convulsion, Granado. The Agamemnon kit is waiting, also some like the Vasa from Sergal or the Victory from Panart. They are all in the shelf waiting......

But due to the fact, that I started with POF modelling, reading and studying plans of Boudriot and Delacroix, the interest (and energy) of starting one of these kits is in moment limited. Since some weeks I am working on the La Salamandre, a bomb ketch in POF, the link to the Building log you can find in my signature.

I am happy to be part of this friendly group and whenever you have questions or need some advice, I will try to help

I am still smiling :)

G'day Uwe
I for one is proud to have you helping me and the other mods.
You are still quite yong compare to me, but I'm glad to see some salt in your hair. When I was your age, I had some back sprinkled among the salt.
Again congratulations mate
