My name is Dave and I have been a member for a short time, but have now finally found the time to participate. I have built a few models when I was a kid, but at 50yrs young, I decided to get back into it. I was amased at the new kits, tools and photo etch that is available now. I have built alot of RC aircraft and flown them for many years along with a few drones. I wanted to get back into plastic models because with the RC planes, I found I really liked building them and needed something to build during the hot Vegas summers when I can't be in the garage with my large aircraft. After long hours of watching videos and reading countless forums, I am well into building the Trumpeter 1/200 Bismarck with the Pontos detail up set and a few other add-ons. I have the Trumpeter 1/200 Missouri and Arizona in my stash along with Trumpeter 1/35 Moser Karl-Gerat with munition carrier and Hobby Boss 1/72 Dora Railway gun. These alone will keep me busy for years, but I'm always on the hunt for other kits. I'm still working full time as an Air Traffic Control Facility Manager and have a home and wife to take care of. Needless to say, my plate is full. Glad to be part of the forum and looking forward to anything I can learn from it.

A warm welcome from my side, also a newbie here in this forum.
You will see they are all very friendly, helpful and interested in others work.
Nice to have you on board.....

Welcome to the group. Those are some great plastic kits that use photo etch parts to make them so. There is a plastic kit section where you can start a log and share your work and building experience with others.

Hi Dave

A warm welcome from down under.

You will find SOS a very friendly forum as we are all are hobbyists doing the same thing in making a model ship.

A lot of help can be given and our more experienced modellers willing to give advice but with a build log you will also get some members following your build log..

Cheers
Geoff
