as many of you know Model Ship Builder will be closing down and reinventing itself as a research and design site for model ship building. The forum will not be open to the general community of model builders. There are a number of project ideas already in the planning stages. The design group is also associating itself with top notch companies involved in laser cutting, model design, 3D printing. We are making inroads with Parks Canada, archaeological groups, the Canadian Nautical Research Group and various museums and historical sites and societies.

Our goal is to offer limited edition model kit projects of historical shipwrecks and historical vessels of North America.

We are seeking like minded volunteers willing to get involved in one of model ship building most advanced model building groups. No need to be a professional just a willingness to get involved. We will teach you along the way.

We need

CAD people
research people willing to search and contact various sources
3D modelers
editors to edit and present research material to the community
web site people to manage the site
prototype builders who get the first one off kit, you will be required to create a build log that will either be posted as such or converted into a PDF article

if you are interested in joining the team contact Winston over at the Model Ship Building site or the Navy Board Site.
