Thanks, Gents!
Here is the current state of SoS. The belfry is a bit more advanced (I still agonize on a ladder to it). There are some windows attached to the aft and also the central lantern looks a bit better now. The hand rail is still missing to it and I am hesitating whether or not to use a bell ladder instead of the straight one.

A few bits and pieces about my SoS. Very slow progress, I am just working on some bits and pieces lately.
Gratings had been done. First I made some proper size grating panels of Costello. We,, not the right material for it. Then it also turned out to be not enough (that much about forward thinking) so I've made another set of Hornbeam. Just the right material, I can commend it to anyone making his own gratings. I made them on my Proxxon circular saw.
Then some stairs had been done (still a few more to come) and the proper capstan (the one in the kit does not only look stupid but is also not the correct type).
The rudder is ready now, with hand-mage pintles and gudgeons.
Also some more carvings on the mirror.
Merry Christmas to everyone!

As I am on a Christmas brake  I put SoS a bit to the side so this picture shows the late December state. Gunport cover hinges and some small carvings around the gunports are now installed. Back to SoS after the Royal William figure head will be finished. I can't leave everything in an unfinished state after all..

Excellent work Janos, the carvings on your belfry are reminiscent of that of a German modellers build of this vessel (Hubert if memory serves me right)
I have not been around for a very long time due to work, but I am trying to make the time to get back into building.I have started continuing on my RY Caroline after a two year Hiatus
Kind Regards
Nigel

Thanks, Gents!
I pretty much deviated from the kit (and will doing so later as well). The capstan had been made on the basis of the Lavery-book and the belfry is some combination of different ships of the same era (mainly, but not exclusively St Michael). At the moment I am looking for guns - carriages as well as barrels - because the kit's parts are just a joke.
