Making a stand

Beautiful model, 'Snowy'!I am using the same type of stand for all of my models. Obviously the sizes, shapes, details are all different, but they are based (!) on the same principle: there are 2 stands which have slots for the keel (the slots are only marginally wider) and two additional 'arms' between them, which support the hull. The keel itself would not be strong enough to hold the model of course, hence the additional supports. The 2 stands are turned from timber and the 'arms' are either simple (like for Rattlesnake) or more elaborate (like for the Napoleon Barge).
The advantage of this solution is that the base is not connected to the hull, so the model can be taken off and put back easily, even turned around if necessary. The disadvantage of this solution is that the base is not connected to the hull :p so we have to be cautious not to drop the model off its base.
