Hi
this is my latest model, just recently finished. It is Napoleon's oared barge, Le Canot Imperial. She had been built in 1811 for Napoleon I but he used it once. The decorations were much simple that time. Then Napoleon III got it re-decorated in the 1850's and used it once again in 1858. Currently the original barge is displayed In the Paris Maritime Museum. I bought the plan from the Museum and the model is in 1:25 scale. The hull is built of Pear wood and Walnut, the cabin from Perobe Rosa and Hornbeam. The carvings are made of European Boxwood. The model is fully scratch built.

<t>Absolutely incredible. The carving of the people holding the crown is the best. A very beautiful ship.</t>

That is simply a joy to look at, well done. I note that each of the oars has a representation of a fish on it; freshwater fish? What is the story there? Regards.

Graham - unfortunately I don't know the types of fish which were painted on the original oars neither do I know the exact types I used on the oars. Being ignorant sometimes speeds up work :?
