Hi just share some pictures of the Royal Spanish galley La Real. This is a copy build at the beginning af the 1900s. She is housed in the maritime museum in Barcalona. I visited the museum two years ago.

The museum is based in the old royal navy store houses. A must see when in Barcalona.

Great photos of a very interesting ship. Many thanks for sharing with us your visit.....
Can it be, that the rudder is not vertical?

Thanks for showing this stunning ship. Is it full size or s scalled down replica?

Hi gents,

The ship is a full size replica from the original of 1571. She is 60 mtrs between bow and stern.

The rudder is hinged at an angle this creates the effect that the top of the rudder is moving when the helm is moved. At the picture the rudder is slightly moved to the ps.

Most probably thats where they got their inspiration from. Apearently g strings go back to the late middle ages. :) :). Or does this say something about our imagination.
