Hello to all,

This is my first day at this site. I am currently building my first ship the H.M.S Bounty by Constructo. I started the build about two years and I am just about ready to start working on the Masts, Spars and Rigging. I have completed the bowsprit, the jib boom and the yard. However, I am not sure how the yard is assembled to the bowsprit. The instructions/plans do not provided enough details.

thanks for any help,
CaptMike

Hi CaptMike,welcome to the forum.

You should ask Mike,he built the same model from Constructo.

Hi there Mike and welcome to our friendly forum.
When I built the Bounty about 20 years ago, I purchased the book "Anatomy of the ship Bounty." It was most helpful with details on all aspects of the real ships masts and spars.

Thank you Brian for the help. I will go look for the book.

on page 59 of "Rigging Period Ship Models" by Lennarth Peterson the sling that is used is shown. It is basically a sling that is attached to the yard that wraps inn between the bowsprit and jib boom then attaches to the other side of the yard.

Thank you very much Don. I think I have the idea now. This has been a big help.
