Hohenzollernmodell 1660-1670 Scale 1/21

Hi Peter
I hope all is well. I really enjoy your build log as I am in the process of building the Dutch 7 Provinciën myself, although at a smaller scale than you are building the HZM. I hope you are still working on her and would love to see an update.

She is very impressive
And big!
I'm planning this moment the same model, look into the log on the German site and learned a lot of making the bulkheads. I ignored the correcties of the 3 last bulkheads on the stern. I want to make it in scale 1/75 so the correction is minimum and hardly to notice. So I will visit your log often. It is real beautifull what you performed to this moment.

wonderful perspective view along the hull
I hope that you are able to make more regular updates of your progress
- although only small steps in your eyes, but highly interesting to follow for us

Hi everybody,

my Name is Peter and I'm from Germany. Some of you might know about a comtemporary Dutch ship model from the 1660s that was destroyed by bombing in WWII. The model was owned by Kaiser Wilhelm II who was exciled after WWI, hence its name: Hohenzollernmodell, but the model remained in Berlin. It is unknown which ship of the Dutch fleet the model represents.

In 2013 I started to build a replica of this model. This is what my copy of it Looks like now:

The cannons are cast in bronze:

Thanks for checking in.

Peter
