HMS Royal Caroline kit ZHL 1/30

amazing floor, are you Lighting this ship Maarten?
Yes, all cabin have lighting by means of chandeliers and lanterns done with mini orange candle light leds. As secundairy lighting I added micro leds into one deck beam per cabin.

Thanks for the link, there ate a lot of beautiful strips in the catalogue.
I thought that you made the strips yourself.

I only ordered the led, the lanterns and chandeliers I made myself. The leds I ordered online, I will check the adress for you.

Again I must say:

I assume that you are planning to put a LED light under the table? Hmmm.......great idea.
On your non construction time, you must be thinking all the time of ways to add your touch.
Thanks for sharing these insights to all of us.

Hi Greg,

Thx for your comment. No leds under the table but a working chandelier on top. Still have to work out the idea.

Yes finally the floor is finished. After glueing I have scraped the floor to a flat service followed by waxing and polishing.

Before waxing.

Time to arrange the wiring for the lanterns
20181004_213613.jpg

And fitting the panels.
20181004_220424.jpg
The wiring runs behind the panels through a hole in the deck under the deck forward to the battery casing which is fitted under the aft gratings.20181004_220407.jpg
Now the window frames can be finished and the glass fitted. Hopefully I find some time during the weekend to do that.
See you next time.

I'd cut a groove to run the wires in for a chandelier, the groove can be filled back in once the wiring is in place. of if your chandelier will be on a ceiling that has deck planks over plywood above the chandelier you can cut the groove in the top side of the ply run the wires and cover it with planking
The wiring for the chandelier is already in, it is below the floor and will go along the table foot through the table to the chandelier that will be standing on the table.

G'day Maarten
I wish there an 'excellent' button as well as a 'like' button. I'll be pressing the excellent button all the time!
Hmmm..... maybe @Donnie can fix that?
;)
Again marvelous workmanship and I truly LOVE THE FLOOR!
