HMS Blandford Project Main Support Page

ok, so, I posted this in the wrong place.

@PoulID, I've experienced the same as you, printed drawings on a professional print shop, wrong scale measurements, even with revised drawings, but, now Blandford is built according to its own goals and designs, it goes, but there are some adjustments along the way, I've probably made a lot of mistakes too, so, this we learn from.

As I have seen a few times in comments of others build.

1. Get all plans printed at one time same machine to keep scale matched.
2. The Bill of Material (BOM) is a guide to what you need, not exact sizes to be cut.
3. Make measurements off your build as you go, and you will be less likely to cut too short based on plan sizes. Some builds don't end up exactly as the plans show!
4. Ask questions if not sure, My favorite thing to do! Saves rework.

That's an excellent plan. We all start out building to the plans, but eventually have to shift to building to the model as tolerance creep sets in!

Thanks Doc, I follow your build and Mike41's lead build as references on what to and not to do. I am still a basic learner for scratch building so I am researching problems others have had in hopes of not repeating problems others have to figure out.

This is not a build that I am doing, just tracking, or is it as in competitive sailing cover tacking the opposition, with our builds?
About not following prior problems to avoid our own. . . it seems that our society and some other cultures' groups around the world don't remember or know from history of the events and their younger determination not to repeat the same, forget that in the emotion or mass hysteria of mob violence erupting from a demonstration and some committing acts of (senseless to me) violence against others or anything before them with rampant destruction that is most times not related to the core social issue itself. Sad that we cannot learn from history and implement corrective actions to not repeat similar errors. There is no glue to correct an action like a rebuild of a project under our hands. Just a thought. PT-2
