GOLDEN HINDE by Canoe21 { Lawrence } Harold A Underhill Plans, Scale 1:60

Hi Lawrence.

We have been missing your updates to the build log

We have been worried that you might have not been well. Pleased to see you back.

One of my friends PC's a few years ago we had the exact same problem. The PC ran like a dog. It was a USB hard drive.

Cheers
Geoff

Hello Geoff

I thank you very much for your very kind words and concerns but now all is well and the little fellows at started working on that last set of doors on the After side of the Focal, these little doors have seamed to go on for ever but the end is now in sight. ENJOY.

Regards Lawrence

Hi Lawrence,
The two doors. Is that a grand entrance to the head? :geek:
I like your work. :handgestures-thumbup:

Hello Mike

I thank you very much for your visit to my build log and also for your very kind words and comments. Yes you are correct as there will be two heads just outside of these doors. allow they are very tiny they sure do take a lot of time, but then again I do love the challenge, just two more to go, ENJOY.

Regards Lawrence

PS it's 85F up here today and that is in the shade.

It is 102 here in Sacramento area and suppose to get to 103 today. I still do not consider that cool. lol. Any triple digit is just to hot. Over 110 is insane. We have had more than our usual up here also and we still have August to go through!

Hello Mike and Gary

Golly and I thought that with the temp. up around 90F yesterday and I thought that was hot, turned on the AC when the home got up to 80 F, I do not know how you guys can cope with that much heat. But back in my seamen's days on the oil tankers we did have some blistering days down in Venezuela but I was young then and just loved the sun, ENJOY.

Hello Ship Mates

I do thank you all very much for all of your visits to my build log on the little ship the Golden Hind. For your very kind words and ever so nice comments. Also it is nice to be back in the Old Ship Yard once again,

Back in the old ship yard the little fellows and have gone all out and we finished up the last two doors on the Aft side of the Focal. We built the doors and frames and also the hinges and door knob. We also ship lapped this bulk, now tomorrow we can start to plank the upper Focal deck a much more enjoyable task, ENJOY.

Hi Lawrence,
I really like your work. Facing aft on your main deck. Is the bulkhead done "clinker." It looks cool.
:music-rockout: :handgestures-salute:

It's me again,
Even the Head entrance is "clinker."
I wonder was one of the head hatchways labeled Crews head, and the other The Gentleman's Convenience.
There should be a Pirate's cartoon to go with comments

Hello Mike

Yes that is a great idea for sure and always good for a chuckle. I would suppose that the skipper and officers had there own head in the stern section. Must check this out just for the fun of it all, ENJOY.

Regards Lawrence

Hello Greg

Welcome to my build log on the Golden Hind. I thank you very much for your very kind words and overly nice comments No I am not planning on leaving the form, just spreading my wings so to speak, there sure are a lot of very nice people over here on the SOS Form, welcome aboard.

I do not believe that my building is not at all fast, it's just that being retired gives me a lot of extra time to work in the Old Ship Yard that I do enjoy very much, and then again I am still learning, ENJOY.

Regards Lawrence

Hi Lawrence,
I am also retired, although not by choice, but retired non the less.
I find it hard to split my time between hobbies though. I play music two days a week at the VA and spend the rest of my time building ships. I never do things fast. I usually do thing kind of half fast. :banana-dance: :banana-rock: :text-lol:

Hello Mike

Yes I do have a lot of little jobs to do around our home as well as cutting the grass and looking after the gardens all tough they are not that much they still have to be weeded every second week along with home repairs and searching the web that seam to eat up the hours very fast. However I do spend a lot of time in the Old Ship Yard and often I will rebuild an item 2 or three times before I think it is ok, but this is just one of the joys of model ship building, ENJOY

Regards Lawrence

Hello Ship Mates
I again thank you all for all of your visits to my build log. For your very kind words and overly nice comments.

Back in the Old Ship Yard the little fellows and I have planked the Focal deck and tided it up a bit. Now we can add a few Led Lights to this area and a few more to the stern after housing. I am still up in the air of what to do about the lighted stern running light, as I need access to get at the wiring and by installing it now it will surely get damaged, ENJOY

Hi Lawrence.

Very nice work as usual,

Could you run say a heavy fishing line to the stern running light and pull it through later.

Cheers

Hello Geoff

Thanks for the fishing line ides but the power lead on my Led Lights has a resistor in the line and that would make the hole for mounting the light to large. May just have to bite the bullet and be just a bit more careful in planking the hull, ENJOY.

Regards Lawrence

Hello Ship Mates

I thank you all for all of your visits to my build log. Also for your very kind words and nice comments.

Back in the Old Ship Yard the little guys and I have installed another 4 Led Lights, two in the Focal and 2 in the stern housing. It looks like we just have one more to add and that is the ships running stern light. Our light came with a solid piece of wire to mount this light on, since we are going to light this lamp we are substituting the solid piece of wire for a piece of brass tubing. We have decided that we will rig this lamp, bend the brass tubing to the appropriate shape and then install the Led Lamp, this we will let it hang down and then we can make the two wire connections and then tape and tie it to the after side of the Stern Gallery, to be glued in place after the hull is planked.

We have also taken a couple of pictures to show the effects of the Led Lighting, , it will be much more enhanced once the hull is planked, ENJOY.
