Although it is generally accepted that it is impossible to put any real detail in miniatures, I have never really accepted that. Here are two small deadeyes made today. They didn't take much efort, there was no soldering, or knots, but they look quite good, considering the size of them. I can make a dozen or so in a few minutes. The top one shows the deadeyes ready for the end wires to be trimmed off. The figures on the ruler are millimetres.

I like it When I do ships for bottles I use a drop of extra thick CA with a drop of accelerator on it right away after its placed on a line this represents Blocks, it isn't perfect but adds that little extra to make the project look that much better. You have some Great Ideas Brother I just might have to give some Micro ship building a try for static displays. I know my wife would appreciate it since she hates the big bulky ships around the house. which is the reason I build them and give them away. This way I could keep some for me I have always wanted to build the santa maria. nina and pinta sailing to America for a bottle but the size would be so small it would be very difficult to construct that inside a bottle. I could easily do a 12-14" display of them though to place on a shelf in a glass case.

Thanks, No, not transparent. It is just painted with Humbrol gloss enamel model paint, with the white applied when wet so that it runs. When I was at sea, my wife accompanied me on long voyages, so had plenty of time to study the sea in all its moods. -

WOW that's amazing She has great skill in blending color because to my eye it looks transparent that's not an easy effect to create. Some Beautiful work I wish I could get my wife involved in my hobbies I like spending time with her and after 33 years of marriage I plan to keep her. She likes to go shooting firearms with me and touring Historical Sites, but that's pretty much it.
