Here is a FREE download showing a pictorial build log for this model. It is a miniature 32 feet to 1 inch, and it just built from bits & pieces. Click the link to read the synopsis. http://payhip.com/b/aFVM A download button is provided with the notification "This item is free!" It is 11 pages in length. This type of modelling provides a cheaper and easier alternative for those who do not have the money, space, time or patience to build kits. Not for everyone of course. The rigging is just short lengths of copper wire stuck on with glue, so it is much easier than rigging with the normal methods of twine. No knots anywhere! :banana-dance:
Can be built with a few inexpensive hand tools.

thats sensational Bob. I just downloaded the file, and thats very kind of you to provide it free of charge.

Question, I would like to know more about your rigging techniques with fine copper wire ? Do you have a tutorial on how you prepare the wire and how you fix and paint it please ?

Thanks Brian,
Yes, there is a full list of the downloads in the article you have just downloaded. There are basic rigging methods shown in Issue 5 of The Shelterdeck. This is certainly sufficient for you to try it out and find out how easy it really is. Tools required: Two small pairs of pliers, cheap dividers (to measure length of wire) sharp knife, tweezers. A more comprehensive one is the Norwegian barque Svaerdstad, that contains plans of the vessel, plus full building instructions and 116 pages in length. Fully illustrated throughout. Scratchbuilding Merchant Sailing Ships, A Dying Art also gives basic constructional details of a general nature. I blacken the wire with a permanent black broad-tipped marker pen. That download covers amongst other things, the barque Marjory Glen, see below, with some rigging and constructional tecniques, but no plan of the ship!
