Hi,

I just want to give you a short introduction:
I am 33 years old and I like model building since I was young. At the beginning I was focused on plastic kits. Also including ships, but mainly aircrafts.
After growing up there was not much time for model building, but approx 2 years ago I decided to start again. I decided to go for a relatively cheap kit from Occre (The Golden Hind). After starting it I have asked my brother to do the red/yellow painting. As a return favor I agreed to build another Occre kit (the Bucaneer) for him. The result you see in my avatar.
My distant goal is to build the Sovereign of the Seas, which I already started. Honestly without finishing the Golden Hind (the rigging is still missing).
I will also start a build log on the Sovereign of the Seas in the next days.

Thank you all for the kind welcome.
I just started my build log a couple of days ago.
It is also the Mantua version. I will borrow quite a lot of ideas from you Gary.
Hope that is okay for you.
 
NjO5rdr: That is what we want. We try to help others learn from our experience. Kits have lots of errors and we hope to inspire others to build a vessel they can be proud of, using what you fell comfortable with and avoiding the pitfalls.

Welcome aboard the SOS. You will find we are a very friendly and helpful bunch of members.
We would all love to see a build log of your SOtS. And its a percrct way to make new ftiends and family members.
