@Peter Voogt BTW The Admiral and I vacuumed and dusted the Chaperon Sternwheeler this morning. I decided a small change in the build line up would be great after all the previous knot tying. Jan

Thank you Peter for looking in. Ah, I’m seriously contemplating the next page of build instructions and trying to decide how to sweet talk the Admiral into giving that a go. I’m sure she would do a great job with this “Knotical” business. Odds of success with that are probably between zero and...

Grants Xebec 1:60 (using Jabeque Cazador Occre1:60 kit)

That is super work. Those are great photos. I love to see all the little bitty hard to reach knot tying. Paul gave me an idea for a new ship vocabulary word. He said, "Nautical" which I interpreted as "Knotical".:D Jan

Thank you. Hmm a play on words "nautical" / "knotical", well they almost sound the sameROTF Another milestone is in the works. I can turn to page 46 in the build instructions. At the bottom of page 46 is the next build step --- "Ratlines on the fore shrouds and main shrouds are made of...

Thanks for looking in. My adventure with ratlines started with my very first build - Constructo's Enterprise. That was a complete disaster since I never had done anything like that. I spent a lot time tying and retying little bitty knots, etc. If memory serves @Heinrich had quite a bit of help...

The Deadeye saga concludes: A lot of little errors and things not quite up to snuff, but there you have it! I’ve learned what works, what not to do and above all “Re-Do” patience. The next adventure — tying Ratlines. Jan

I don't know about having found a workable method, I work at it until I finally get it. I'm still learning as I go. I've finally managed to figure out how to use tweezers in each hand to tie a knot. My fingers are just to fumbly and clumsy to work in tight spaces. Jan

Deadeyes and more deadeyes, the saga continues. Ever so slowly I’m making progress. Next on the agenda is item #8 in the rigging plan below. The last twelve deadeyes. Rigging item “A” was a finicky bit of work. I think in hindsight that should have been done after the Top was glued to...

ROTF, NO,NO, no pictures just sore knees. At my age it takes no time to get down on my knees, it takes much longer to get back upROTF That is excellent advice for marking the deadeyes. Thank you very much for that. Jan

The pesky deadeye continuance: I have to admit I took a little break after completing the Mizzenmast deadeyes but I thought I’d start the Mainmast deadeyes. It didn’t take long before the cover came off the bad word jar, In less time than it takes to type this, two of the triangular deadeyes...
