    DIY Britannia Metal

Has anyone here tried making your own Brit metal "rods" or "bar stock" by way of knowing how to mix the metal to pour into a mold? I think micromark.com has some stuff you make with brit metal, but I need to go back to their site to see the process. I have yet to see anything on google...

    Belle Poule [COMPLETED]

After several months of completing the Belle Poule, I was able to establish the base. The wooden base is from Model Expo and I turned the Brass supports. The background is the best I could do for the moment. Images taken with an iPhone.

I have found that after about an Hour and a Half, I have to take a break, especially during the work week and that might be only one session. On the weekend, it might be two sessions of an Hour and a Half. I was wondering about others here. How long does one of your sessions last? Do you break...

Well, I ordered the Italeri FIAT MEFISTOFELE 21706 c.c. When I picked up the shipment at my front door - an uncanny sound of a lot of tiny things moving around inside the box - the awful feeling struck and as I opened the shipping box and also the Kit box --- well, apparently, the clear...

    Cynoacrylate or CA glues

This might seem rather common knowledge, but I am wondering if ALL Brands of CA glue are the same. I have bought some from two different brands and it does seem that some brands are not as good. So, I was thinking that CA is CA. I have bought CA from Hobby Lobby Brand and also from Hobby Town...

What to do with left over toothpicks from Treenailing

So, I got this pile of toothpicks which of course has the sharp ends cut off. I have been thinking of a way to quickly take these and put a point back on them. But I have yet to come to an idea. I have taken one at a time and using fingers to rotate up against a disk sander, but they all come...
