Very nice work Paul and most probably the differential in colour in the laminated beams will disappear through the year by UV. You didn't show but guess you did not let us down by adding some dove tail joints on your deck beams? ROTF

Purchased shortly ago / sthg new in your workshop -> present it here

Last Friday I visited the Intermodelbau in Dortmund which is the biggest modelling trade show in the world. For static ship modeling there is not much to see, except for tools and materials. This as the show is more focussed on RC. Exept for some paper builders like this. In scale 1:1250 But...

A Dutch Fluyt in shell first, reconstructing the "Ghost ship" scale 1:36

Hi Daniel, Tree nails were fitted. The frames were attached to the planks with tree nails. Under the ship on the blocks there is some space to finish the heads of the tree nails. Also the ship was turned on its side to water tighten the hull before the launch. So sufficient options to do this...

A Dutch Fluyt in shell first, reconstructing the "Ghost ship" scale 1:36

The remaining floor planks in the bow section are fitted. And this time a different approach. I first prepared a plank with a slight curvature. Instead of making a plank to fit my floor shape I now adjust my floor shape to fit my plank. With a japanese saw and a file the floor was shaped to...

Hi Heinrich, I know but I agree with Stephan. Regarding planking there seems to be no clear system. Using what is available, you aalso see this on other wrecks of smaller ships I have seen. Even on Vasa there is difference in SB and PS planking.
