In the swedish maritime museum in stockholm, which I visited three weeks ago, they keep the stern and main cabin of the royal swedish yard Amphion from 1778 which was saved when she was dismantled in 1884. The ship was designed by Chapmen who also had his part in the drawings for Royal Caroline which I am currently building. There for I will use the interior of the Amphion as inspiration for my RC interior of the main cabin.

Very nice royal yacht. Corel’s Amphion was my very first Model I built in the 1970’s. Brings back the memory.

Where can be found more historical data on this ship or a plan??
I think there is a drawing by af Chapman in the collection......somewhere I did already a link.....will check it tomorrow....

Hi Uwe,
You had send me the link to the Chapmen drawings of the RC.

I know about the Royal Caroline and Chapman´s drawings of here
https://www.shipsofscale.com/sosfor...lotte-1750-1820-royal-yacht-with-8-guns.2057/

but for the Amphion I have to search a little bit more, maybe she is included in Architectura Navalis?

Here is a link to the Digital Museum, but unfortunately only photos of the model and some other things, no drawing

Here a source on wikimedia:

I ordered the Amphion drawings from the Stockholm Maritime Museum and at the end they very nicely sent it to me without payment. Unfortunately the drawings are not good quality, very difficult to see and they are not complete. I've got a few photos about Ivan Trtanj's Amphion, it looks like very close to the Museum drawing. The drawing in Chapman's book is just partially correct.
I have also building Amphion in mind.

Hi Janos,

See you are based in Sydney so Sweden is a world trip, but if you are building her I can recommend you to go to Stockholm and visit the maritime museum and ofcourse the Vasa.

Maarten,
I was there and saw Vasa, but unfortunately could not visit the Museum. Vasa is breathtaking.
