Nice that's the piece that was giving me trouble as the plans and Adrian's book aren't clear about that taper, seeing the part always works for me.
Hello Tony I will show you today how I did it.
Good evening everyone, Tony had a bit of a problem with the stern and it's about the taper of the stern.
On the one hand, this can be seen from the plans and, on the other hand, Adrian describes it in his book. Here are the pictures for the plan/book.
First you have to measure the overhang of the small triangle and then you need a small piece of wood that corresponds to the measurement and put it on the lower corner of the stern post. Now align your workpiece and clamp it.
Now position your milling cutter at the beginning of the taper and mill path by path up to the beginning of the triangle up to the upper end of the triangle.
Now it gets a little tricky since we have two different pitches, so place about half of the previous piece of wood under the other end and then continue routing to the first mark on the top small arch.
You do the whole thing on the other side too.

I did it this morning yes. I used a file and sanding stick. Didn't want to mill and make a mistake. It came out ok. Good enough for me anyway. Thanks

The first step is done, the keel sits quite well and it also fits well in the jig.
In the second step, I prepared frame 1 and 32, as well as the sternposts and crossbeams.

Hi Frank, thanks for pointing that out, I interpreted it that way in terms of the plan. I think it won't be noticeable. For everyone else it is a good hint.

I think I've got to the bottom of the mystery that has caused some confusion.
6.75mm or 6.95mm, both measurements are correct. I am in the process of building a test frame and lo and behold, here we find the two different measurements.
The keel measures 6.75mm, but the keelson measures 6.95mm.
You can find this again in the article INFOS.
Hi Frank, I have experimented a bit with the frames and will stick to my old way of making them as Adrian does. I have prepared some parts and worked a bit more on La Palme. On the other hand, I also hurt my eye on New Year's Day which slowed me down a bit the last few days.

I think he’s talking about lumber thickness which is also the width of the parts not the height which can of course be cut from that lumber.
