Corel - La Couronne French Ship 1636 1:100 - reconstruction

Postby JScolum » Mon Mar 26, 2012 5:40 am

Welcome, I don't know what possessed me 21 January 2007 but I bought the shipwreck of the ship Couronne La. Such a workmanship somebody not had a clue about tools and the timber processing. Nevertheless it seems that he finished but later everything broke down and in such a state I got it. The base coat of the forest floor was filled in some layer of the spatula from silica. Whether to it it is possible cos to stick??? The builder settled the matter with a few nails which rusting stained in these places wood.

Sails to the improvement. At one time I made them but something I no longer like them. Probably generally speaking I will undress everything to the body and I will lay the new rigging and new sewing the body. It will be 3: -) it will be first in history model with three forest floors. However I will do something about it how all begun models will already be finished. Heavily I am carrying correcting after oneself let alone after somebody: -)

look at it this way.........it will be a really cool refit project. it needs to be re-rigged anyway......add a few buntlines and the sails can be gathered at the yards. with the work you've shown so far.......this will be very easy for you to do!

Your are doing a great job. What a challenge to rebuild. And thanks for sharing how you did the steps on your S.M. My ship has a similiar set of steps in the front and on one siee. However, they are not tapered on the sides.
Happy modeling,
Gary Maple

Hi Leszek,

You are doing a fantastic job rebuilding her. With your craftsmanship you can handle it.

Hello Leszek,

That hurts to see a ship in that state
But with your skills you will do a great job in rebuilding her.

Take care,

Anja :happy-sunshine:

This will be a interesting project. Do you know how old is the ship?

He can be about 20 - 25 years old. The glue ordinarily crumbled causing such a disintegration. It is likely that he found his way to some damp basement. I am not good at his history. Certainly today we have better glue at our disposal.
