I was thinking of laser work however with hardwoods and all the weird sizes. but for the frames they are total 1/4" thick so 1/8 inch might work. then for the shot locker and well and other details. it would depend on the wood etc but I was going to look into it with the company I do cad work for model planes.

I know we used to use basswood often for stuff but that's a soft wood. I was thinking for my ship maple or cherry for my hull.

I got a query in to see if it is alright to share my cad part files for those wanting to get the parts laser or CNC cut. I also queried my partner to see how it would go laser cutting hardwoods as usually we use soft woods like balsa, basswood, and lite ply.

also the various wood thicknesses would be a challenge as they aren't always standard dimensions. However with the Washington the frames are 1/8 inch so the frames and maybe some of the misc bits and pieces might be able to.

Tonight I finished the basic keel. still need to work on some parts like the sternpost and inner sternposts taper as well as the recesses in the stern deadwood for the aft stations but its pretty much finished and the next part will work on is the gun deck transom and the stern half frames and cant frames then work on the counter timbers and transom frame now its time for bed and to pack up and head back out of town tomorrow

well home for the weekend and my wood package hasn't showed yet. another 62 hr week at work but only 2 more to go with this remodel then off to another one for another 3 months. but i get abt 2 weeks vacation between which I hope to get a lot done. I just need to get more parts cadded up by then.

I will be doubling the plan size by 200% which will make overall length abt 40" and height of 28" for the radio control version with the Lateen sails. so after some much needed sleep I will continue tracing. I have gotten most of the transom parts traced.
