Post by Bdellis2112 » Fri Oct 07, 2016 9:14 pm

I have started my build. I have glued the frames to the false keel and the the false deck to the false keel and frames.I will sand edges of frames prior to start planking. Any suggestions welcome. I have pictures but file is too big if someone can help me with that I will post pictures.

Brian,
do you have any photo editing software like Corel Paint Shop Pro or any other program similar. This way you can resize your image to the requirements for the forum. The file size will most likely have to be compressed too. I am not familiar with any free photo editing programs out there, but I know that Corel is not expensive.
Also, I know that Windows comes with a "Paint Program" that I am sure you are familiar with, but I have not experimented with it much. Let me know, you can always email me donnie@shipsofscale.com for more info on this.

The only free Photo Editing Program that I can think of at the moment is GIMP and can be found here. They have tutorials and manuals.

Hi Brian, if you have MS Office, pictures can be resized in Picture Manager. If you are not sure how to use it contact me and I will explain the steps involved.
Also in "Coffee Time" is a pictorial on how to post photos if you are unsure how to do that. here is the link:

I use Windows paint and it is very easy to use. All my post were resized using this.
Happy modeling,
Gary Maple

Hi Brian, photos look good, a little on the small side though. Set your pictures size to about 900 x 600 (762 is the default), depending on which format you are using. Some take two steps some take one step. Depending on the colours in your pictures will depend on the size (kb) of your resized photo, my photos vary between 125 and 250kb. The darker the picture the smaller (kb) it will have, do some testing. If you click on the "Forums" tab and go to the very bottom you will see a "Test your Post here", in this area you can test posts (pictures) of various sizes to see which suits you most.
Happy building and I/we look forward to more progress.

are you trying to resize and post pictures from your computer, or from a picture hosting site? the FAG page says that introducing photos from your computer is not allowed....only from outside hostings. I use windows paint........no matter how small I make them, they are too large to post.

Looks good to me and the pics too. You might try to make your pics a little larger. I usually do mine at 800 x 600 is a good balance. I do have the forum set up to take 990 w x 5000 h and 325 Kb file size. They bring up a good point. That is why I set up the "Test your post here" - so people can test all they want.
