Build Log: Sharpie Schooner

Postby Merchant65 » Wed Jul 16, 2014 3:03 pm

While my dinghy is nearing completion, I figured I would take some time and getyself ready for my next build, the Sharpie Schooner. Initial inspection, a little intimidating. It is definately more detailed than my first build. No matter, work it slow and take my time. "Talking to myself." I'm sure I will some answers on this. Luckily I know everyone here is definately able and willing to help
I almost forgot to add that it is 1/24 scale

The experience you had on the first one will make this go a lot easier. The important thing is to get a new one to peak your interest and add another challenge. I have kits waiting that I want to build and use that to make me want to finish the current project.
Choosing kits that you know are a little harder each time, but knowing that you can do it, is important to becoming a happy and accomplished modeler. Being able to enjoy what you have finished is what make this hobby fun. It is amazing how much thought and complexity can go into using 3 items - wood, metal and string. But in the end you can look back and proudly say, "Look what I have made!"
Happy modeling,
Gary Maple

Problems are just challenges waiting for your solution.

Current build: Sergal Sovereign of the Seas
In Que: Sergal: Cutty Sark and Amerigo Vespucci; Billings Titanic
Completed: Amati: HMS Prince (old 1:78 version); Billings: Norske Love and Vasa; Mantua: La Couronne; Sergal: Mississippi Riverboat and La Soleil Royal

That's very true Gary. I got the sharpie a couple months ago, and I refused to let myself open it until I got the dinghy to the point where it's almost finished. I'm glad I did
Thanks,
John
