thanks Rick.......I do the laugh as well! it comes from my two boys, when they were growing up. now-a days, I do it wherever I am, even at work.......always gets a laugh. personally, I love the character......he's my favorite.

this is my first scratch build......just an obscure little boat......I couldn't get it out of my head, so, I built it.

Hello Popeye,

Just finished reading through your Gundalow log, it's very nice to see another beautiful ship of your fleet come to life in the pages of this wonderful site :) It always amazes me how you get those complex looking frames to come out straight and true, excellent work sir :handgestures-thumbup:

Hi Aldo.....glad you like it. it didn't come out too bad.....for a ship that I did from pictures :D

If I had the pictures that I do have handy Reggie, I would show them to you. the ship that I am talking about is called the Phyllis A. at the moment she is moored at the Gloucester marine railways. one of the drivers at work is a relative of the owner of the ship.....he was his great grandfather {I think}.....I would have to thumb through the info I have to refresh my memory. Tom Arnold {the driver} said that he would talk with a few other relatives to see if he can get some pictures of the ship for me.....the deck and pilot house especially. I already have the specs on the ship.

thanks for showing me that ship.......it looks very interesting :D :text-coolphotos:

I do too Barba.........hull construction is pretty cool to look at! thanks for the good word.

where did you find that Reggie!!!! that is pretty neat.....I am going to copy the link and when I see Ken Arnold again, I'll give it to him.....he will definitely hit the floor when he sees that! my info on the ship puts the timeline like this:
built in maine and owned by the Arnold family for 75 years......then it was brought back to Kennybunkport to be restored and used as a museum piece. they couldn't keep it up there any longer, so it was brought back to Gloucester to be restored again and kept there as a museum piece. A fellow by the name of Doug Parsons maintains the ship and is in charge of the Phyllis A. association.

I had sent an e-mail off to the railway.......I got a reply and they told me that they would forward the letter to Doug......I haven't heard anything yet. I may shoot him another one and see what comes of it. looks like a lot of cool stuff on the deck.....gotta see what it looks like though. thanks for the info.....if you run across any more....please do let me know.....love to see it! :handgestures-thumbup: :text-coolphotos:
