No Mutiny on This Bounty

Postby SgtGlick » Fri Mar 01, 2013 7:47 pm

Ahoy,
I have decided to try something I have in mind for a long time.
A removable (working) false keel.
On the Bounty.
I have a piece of walnut 1/4" by 7/8" by 24"
Going to sand * the 1/4" down to .200", the width of the center keel.
Going to cut ** the 7/8" down to .500"
* = Jim Byrnes Thickness Sander
** = Jim Byrnes Table Saw.
Since I already drilled the bottom of the center keel,
I am commited to those hole locations.
Therefore, I will use my Sherline Mill to transfer the holes.

On order and due Monday.
1 box ( 100 pcs) 0-80 Stainless Steel Phillips Head Flat Head Screws by 1"
1 box ( 50 pcs) 0-80 Stainless Steel Small Pattern Hex Nuts.
Photo uploaded shows the Thickness Sander in action.

False Keel is bolted to the Center Keel.
Clamped in the Amati Keel Klamper.
Keel Klamper is bolted to a turntable I made to get to any place on the model.
