Billing Boats "Mary Ann" 1:33 scale

Postby popeye » Wed Aug 24, 2011 11:42 pm

I am currently doing a build called the Mary Ann, a 1:33 scale Billing Boats kit. I do like to post pictures, but i also do build logs using word press. it's a very nice program and very easy to use. here are three logs concerning the planking of the hull. it may look sort of scary, but I will be doing one on the sanding of the hull......it looks much better now.

if these are enjoyable to you folks, let me know and I will use this format.......however, every once in a while, I will be posting individual pictures of the progress. Enjoy, and thanks from the wharf.

oh, their will be......this is just something that I adopted from one of the other sites that i subscribe to. I feel this saves on web space, keeping the cost down. I'll be sure to pepper pictures throughout......I am in agreement that pictures make for excellent eye candy

here is something that I did the other day......I wanted to show the similarities between the Cux build and the Mary Ann's.
the hulls are the same, but the deck furnishings will be quite different

You know that is one thing that I always intended to do, take pictures along the way. I did somewhat on the Bounty amassing about 150 pictures but not of the critical points...planking the hull in the various stages. I have shots in frame, adding the decks, and getting the masting in place. I always seem to be too tired to pick up the camera. I am learning to keep the camera near the work so that I can take pictures of the next project.....hint hint :D

it started as a favor with the Nordkap........ended up as a habit with all the others......long story how it all came about. all I can say is that it's a good I love to write.........what a good subject to write about. I try to do them as a tutorial, so other folks can follow it.

a big thank you to you and the admiral........my admiral rather see me doing these as well :D as you can see...I like to throw in the humor, as well as any mistakes I make along the way. I like the word press, because you have access to them all....I will post pictures as well as the logs just to mix it up......I'm glad you folks like them. these are what I send to Tom @ Billing's....he likes to do a build compilation too. as for the bass.......I always have something that keeps me busy :D
