I love the way rigging really brings out the character of a ship. I see you are moving along nicely. Great set of pictures and really like the ones you got of the real vessel. Nothing like a finished rigged ship to make you feel real proud and give a great feeling of accomplishment.
Happy modeling,

I'll try and get a picture of the tops Donnie......you'll get a better picture of how the lines are arranged, as opposed to the real ship {pictures}. on a scale this small, I wasn't about to serve lines or anything......I just use different size threads. I found beading thread that comes in different sizes......the lower stays, as well as the lead shrouds, are billing rigging cord {supplied in the kit} f-71, that I had dyed black with India Ink. once all of the lines were rigged, they were touched up with flat black, to cover over the CA marks. once I get the staves and futtocks in place......and the ratlines {what a job that's gonna be}, I think it will look a lot better.

thanks Gary........still at it, and still more to do. I am very happy to be finally rigging her though ;)

hello Rob.......there are two known methods to do it. if you look at the other shrouds, you will see which path I've taken. some I've seen simply wrap the termination around the outer lines of the lanyard. I think it looks crappy, and besides, if you going through all the trouble to rig the lanyards, why botch them up like that? the more preferred method is to wrap the termination around the tie of the upper dead eye, like I've done to all the others. thanks for looking in ;)

Popeye, I use liquid shoe polish to paint the lines black and like it since it also has wax to seal the thread.

oh my......I looked at the date Gary.......sorry to have left you hanging this long  way too busy......got myself into one thing or another ;-) I have stories to tell......and show. not too much has happened with this build.....a little progress...... you'll see ;-)

I have heard of the shoe polish method......I was going to use Rit dye, but got scared off when told that it might damage the thread. I have been told the secret formula to neutralize the acidic values, making it safe to use. I'll need to look to see if there is any updates for this build.

I thought about this build, as I was working on the Half Moon.....trying to find a good cross over point. I didn't do much this week.......I did the last two shrouds that I didn't finish on the main mast. I miss the days when I could run two tables. did I lose my touch, or what? well.......we'll see about that! I cleared off the other table to the point that I could move the Half Moon. I've also been thinking of the United States........hopefully spring will stir the creative mind.
