Thank you GemmaJF, JScolum, Paul and Lawrence for watching and support. Here is the latest on the planking. Realizing some mistakes....oh well, it will be covered up by the main planking.

I made a template out of some stiff paper - I also realize that I should have filled in the bow with balsa - but I am making it fine so far I guess.

Looks fine to me Donnie, I think the bow blocks made life easier for me on the Pearl, but it looks like you are getting by fine without them. :handgestures-thumbup:

Thank you all for your comments. I am just "overbending" the planks and push them in towards and into the Bulkheads until it bends in or fits right. Here is the latest. I cut out a small wedge - I can't remember, I think it is called Spiling ? Well, it is a small piece about 2 inches long. It was pre bent as well.

I realize now that my first 4 planks that head into the bow should have been tapered instead of running horizontal like they are. The final planking will observe that. What I mean is that all my planks going to the bow will have a taper. Time is running out or I would demo with a graphic. Maybe later.

Hello Donnie

Your San Felipe Kit sure looks very ineresting and well put together with a huge amount of detail that I just love in a model ship. She sure will be a big build , much like the HMS Victory that took me around 27 months to complete a very challenging and also a very rewarding ship to build.

I will be pulling up a chair to watch you put togeather this great ship and will be waiting very patiently for a whole bunch of build pictures, ENJOY.

Thank you Lawrence and others. Here is the latest. Not much done, just showing how I needed to cut a small piece to fit.

Donnie

I am now catching up with a few builds. I find that the making of the shape is interesting as you can now fit planks a lot easier without trying to shape the ends.

I will pull up a chair also.

Cheers
Geoff
