Billing's Cux 87

Postby popeye » Tue Nov 08, 2011 11:42 am

this is a ship that I did for my friend Tom @ Billing Boats. I was looking for parts for a ship that a friend gave to me. I got to know Tom and after a while, he asked me if I would do it for him. I agreed and built it.......he was to come and pick it up in person, but the opportunity to do so kept getting botched. I ended up sending it back to him via UPS delivery. it did get a little damaged, but they were able to repair it. the reason for sending it back in this way, was that there was an upcoming expo he was to attend, and he wanted to show it at his booth. it made the show....more on that later. here are some pictures of the ship, which can be seen in the ship of scale gallery.

I have heard from my friend Tom about the expo. The Cux got quite a few of good reviews......even a nod from a gentleman who does museum quality pieces. they had it on a table in the front, but it almost got knocked over, so they put it on a shelf in the back of the booth. he mentioned that he had other pictures and will send me some when he gets them developed. this expo was in Chicago.

Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it.

you know your ships Sjors....yes, it's a German crabbing vessel. it took me five months to build it...done while I was still working on the Nordkap. It's kind of a joke when i say that it is my second kit build, but my first 'finished' kit build.
