By the way, I believe the deadeye lanyard spacing of 3 or 4 diameters was used on some smaller ships that did not have high rise sides and tall, thick lower masts.

To me the close deadeye spacing doesn't look too bad on a small ship like the Scottish Maid. They probably should be a bit farther apart, but I'm not going to try to change them now. :)
When something looks right, don't ruin it by trying to make it perfect.

My next ship building project arrived today!

Update: The build of that project was stopped and the project scrapped due to finding too many problems with the laser cut kit parts and missing or poor information in the manual and plans which required guessing at how to do too many things.

The large image of the Scottish Maid on the box cover was a real help when building the model.

Image accidentally deleted with those of a canceled build.

The company should have left this box cover image of the Scottish Maid on the later kit box covers I've seen! I wouldn't buy the kit based on the more recent box cover images of the model I've seen.
